Luz has been styling, attaching, and blending Toupees and Hair Systems for Men and Women for over 15 years. She learned the Master Art of Razor Blending from a true Wig Master. She has applied and taught these Toupee styling techniques to Hair Clubs large and small worldwide. Now, she is at Hollywood Lace leading our Salon Team. We feel lucky and grateful to have her on our team.

It's important to understand our terminology. 'Cut ins' refer to clients visiting the Salon for a haircut. 'Cut-away' services, on the other hand, involve cutting, blending, and styling a Hair System without it being on the client’s head. Rest assured, we take your instructions and/or a picture, and our skilled team cuts, blends, styles, and delivers the hair system ready to wear, ensuring a perfect and natural look.

What is better? A cut-in or cut-away? Can a hair system that is cut-away look as good as one that is cut-in?

A cut-away service can give a client just as good a haircut and blend as a full cut-in service. If the measurements are accurate, the client will receive a perfectly blended hair system they can wear right out of the box. This approach is less money and a time saver for the client. Some of our clients, however, enjoy the full-service engagement. We are happy to offer both services.

Blending is crucial to making a hair system look real, natural, and undetectable. Ensuring the Hair from the Hair System flows and blends into your hair is vital. To accomplish this, we use exclusively a Razor blend technique. Many other cut-in salons use solely thinning shears or apply blending with regular scissors. The only way to blend a hair system ideally is by applying the tedious skill requiring razor sheer blend.

How can you style my hair system if it is not on my head?

The answer is straightforward. By default, we layer the entire Hair System evenly from the bottom to the top. We do so in a non-directional manner. This means the hairstyle is neutral when the client receives his or her hair system. Then, they can brush it back to the side and make bangs. Once they do this for a few days, the hair system will adjust to their style. If a client wants it pre-styled to a specific look, there is no problem. Just email us a picture of the style you want.
